Is Boom Fitness Culture a CrossFit gym?

By Tyson Evans · Boom Fitness Culture · Updated 2026-09-08
No. Boom Fitness Culture is not a CrossFit affiliate. Boom runs coached functional circuit training and functional bodybuilding — strength, conditioning and mobility in a 45–60 minute class scaled to each person. The coaches have 10+ years of CrossFit and Olympic lifting experience, so the coaching quality is similar; the intensity, competition and programming philosophy are not.

What's the same?

Coached classes, barbells and Olympic lifts taught properly, conditioning that actually gets you fit, and a community that knows your name.

What's different?

No leaderboard and no “Rx” — every class has a scaled version and the coach picks yours. Functional bodybuilding blocks build muscle with controlled progressions instead of maximal efforts every day. And the price is published: $119.99/mo, no contract.

Who should pick CrossFit instead?

If you want to compete, chase benchmark WODs and train the sport of fitness, a CrossFit affiliate like CrossFit Lehi or CrossFit Hyperion is the right home. If you want to be strong, capable and consistent without that, Boom is built for you.

Frequently asked

Do I need CrossFit experience to join Boom?

Does Boom teach Olympic lifting?

Yes — inside classes, on platforms with Rogue rigs, coached by people with a decade of Oly experience.
