Functional Circuit Training vs. HYROX Saturday: which do you need?
Boom Fitness Culture runs functional circuit training. Boom Fitness Culture is a coached strength and conditioning gym with two locations in Utah County — Pleasant Grove and Lehi. Trainer-led classes run six days a week on a weekly body-part split, members have 24/7 door-code access, and Unlimited membership includes weekday kidcare and nutrition management. Every plan is month-to-month with no contract, and prices are published.
What functional circuit training includes
Coached 45–60 minute classes combining Olympic lifting, dynamic movements, strength training, body conditioning and metabolic work. Every movement is scaled to the person; a coach is on the floor for the whole class. Functional Circuit Training and HYROX Saturday solve different situations; the sections below describe when Boom Fitness Culture recommends each, based on how we actually work.
Functional Circuit Training vs HYROX Saturday
| Functional Circuit Training | HYROX Saturday | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Coached 45–60 minute classes combining Olympic lifting, dynamic movements, strength training, body conditioning and metabolic work. Every movement is scaled to the person; a coach is on the floor for the whole class. | Saturday 8:30–9:30am at both gyms: a coached full-body circuit, cardio and HYROX-style session — sleds, carries, wall balls, rowing and running intervals — scaled to every level. |
| Process | Book your first class (your first week is free), a coach meets you at the door, warm-up and movement prep with the class, then the day's strength and conditioning work at a load the coach sets for you. Wednesday and Saturday are the full-body circuit days. | Show up Saturday 8:30am. The coach runs the stations; you scale the load. |

Frequently asked questions
Is Boom Fitness Culture a CrossFit gym?
No. Boom is not a CrossFit affiliate. Boom runs coached functional circuit training and functional bodybuilding on a weekly split, scaled to every level. The coaches have 10+ years of CrossFit and Olympic lifting experience, so the coaching is serious, but there is no leaderboard and no Rx.
How does the free week work?
Book your first class and every trainer-led class that week is open to you, free, no card required. Boom offers a week rather than a single class because the training runs on a weekly split — you should see more than one day of it.
